MARIETTA, Ga. -- It was homemade poster that was the beginning of a unlikely dream.
Battling Stage 4 kidney cancer, 23 year old Laura Stallings made the decision to skip chemotherapy in order to attend Chipper Jones' last home game of the regular season.
Her poster, proclaiming her decision to skip treatment was not only seen on the big board, it was seen around the country.
She was a mystery woman until 11 Alive tracked her down to her Roswell home. And when the Braves heard about Laura, they offered her tickets to the wildcard game.
The season ended that fateful night for the Braves, but not for Laura.
The folks at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital arranged for Laura and two other patients to have a private meeting with Chipper at the hospital.
Laura says it was a dream come true and that she got an answer to a burning question --- had Chipper seen her poster that day? Laura says the first thing Chipper said when he met her was "You're the girl with the poster."
