Four-car accident leaves one dead on I-75/85 northbound

ATLANTA -- A four car accident on I-75/85 northbound has resulted in one fatality.

The accident occurred at 3:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon on I-75/85 North just before 17th street.

The victim's car was traveling in the HOV lane when they were struck on the right rear fender. This sent the car into a spin.

The vehicle then flipped causing two of the people to be thrown from the vehicle. The driver died at the scene and the remaining passengers were transported to Grady Hospital where they are in stable condition.

Sandra Cottles, the driver of the vehicle that struck the vehicle, remained on the scene when the police arrived and was uninjured. Cottles has been chard with 2nd Degree Vehicular Homicide and Failure to Maintain Lane.

She will be transported to the Fulton County Jail.
