ATLANTA -- Georgia's sales tax holiday comes too late for parents in several metro districts that started classes earlier this week.
Many shopping last weekend said they weren't planning to split their trips.
"It wouldn't be worth the stress putting it off until after school started," Sheila Gray said.
But others said they'd get what was required now, then hold off on larger purchases until Friday and Saturday.
The National Retail federation says $26.7 billion will be spent nationwide in back to school shopping this year. An average of $635 per family on school supplies, clothing and electronics.
For list of school supplies you can find the state's fact sheet here.
