Neil Bailey, 64, was beaten on May 8, 2013
ATLANTA -- A 64-year old man, who was assaulted five months ago, has been unresponsive since, without a voice to cry for help. But his niece and the Atlanta Police Department are speaking for him, asking for help, trying to find the person who assaulted him.
Neil Bailey suffered a severe blow to his head May 8, 2013 on Metropolitan Parkway at Lexington Avenue. Bailey was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital and had surgery to remove pressure from his brain. He has been in a comatose state ever since. "The doctors don't know if he'll ever come out of the comatose state," said his niece Angelica Bailey. "We just have to wait."

Bailey served as a Marine in Vietnam. His niece said he came home with post traumatic stress disorder and has had drug problems ever since. But, what happened to him on May 8th should never happen to anyone.
Angelica Bailey shared photos of her uncle to reach out to the public for sympathy. "If the people in the community see the condition that my uncle's in and know the type of guy he is, then maybe somebody will step up and speak up as to what they saw so that an arrest can be made," she said.
Bailey's mother, Lula Bailey Scott visits him almost every day. She said his recovery is in God's hands now. "It's very sad to see my grandmother having to go and see her son knowing that he may not be able to walk again," Angelica said. "He may never be able to even realize who she is and that's very sad."
Neil Bailey's niece says she and her grandmother won't rest until and arrest is made. "My grandmother will rest if we knew this guy was behind bars," his niece said.
Atlanta Police said a reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person or persons responsible for the aggravated assault.
