ATLANTA -- Carver High School and Slater Elementary School were briefly placed on lockdown Monday afternoon due to a dog attack reported on the Carver campus.
Atlanta Police spokeswoman Kim Jones says several dogs mauled at least one student on the football field at Carver High School.

Kimberly Willis Green of Atlanta Public Schools said the student, a boy, was bitten in the face by a dog and was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. His condition at present is not known. School officials had initially said the victim was a girl, not a boy.
Police said it was not clear who the dogs belonged to or how they got onto the football field.
