ATLANTA (WXIA) -- As of 8 p.m., Friday, Tropical Storm Karen continued to weaken as it moved toward the Gulf Coast.
Karen was 205 miles south of the Mississippi River, with sustained winds of 50 mph. It was moving to the north-northwest at 7 mph.
A Hurricane Watch has been issued for the Gulf Coast from Grand Isle, La., to west of Destin Fla. In addition, a Tropical Storm Warning has been issued from Morgan City, La., to the mouth of the Pearl River.
The National Hurricane Center says the hurricane watch could be changed to a tropical storm watch or warning later in the day on Friday.

11Alive Meteorologist Mike Francis says Karen could make landfall around Panama City around noon Sunday. He expects it to move across Georgia Monday morning. Most of the rain is expected south of the Metro.
