DAWSON COUNTY, Ga. (WXIA) -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says they pulled two bodies from Lake Lanier Friday evening, near a dock where two missing men were last seen more than a week ago.
The Dawson County Sheriff said Friday the bodies were of two men who had been missing for more than a week -- David Wood and Mason Cox. They were found in the area of Fredericks Cove.
Lt. Tony Wooten with the Dawson County Sheriff's Office says there was no obvious sign of trauma on the two men's bodies and that both were fully clothed. The GBI will perform autopsies on the men's bodies at their crime lab in DeKalb County early next week.
Before dawn on January 2, 20 year-old friends Wood and Cox disappeared from Wood's home, where the two had gone after an early-morning fishing trip on the lake.
Relatives said the two often fished together in the early morning hours.
