(WXIA) -- After a morning of frigid temperatures greeted Wednesday morning commuters, temperatures are expected to remain cold into Thursday.
After daytime highs in the low-to-mid 30s across much of Metro Atlanta, overnight temperatures are expected to fall back into the low-to-mid 20s under clear skies.
11Alive Meteorologist Chris Holcomb says temperatures on Thursday are expected to move into the high 30s to near 40 degrees under partly cloudy skies. But another blast of cold air is expected to come back in Thursday night, taking temperatures back into the low teens once again.
In addition, highs on Friday will struggle to make it back to the freezing mark.
By Saturday, temperatures should begin to moderate a bit, with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s, and moving into the low 50s by Sunday.
Chris says that even colder weather could be in our future, with another cold snap on the way next week.
Plumbers around Metro Atlanta warn that with the next cold snap, we could see another stretch of frozen pipes in schools, homes and businesses around the area.
