ATLANTA -- A student was shot on the campus of Morehouse College Friday evening.
According to Morehouse Police, some students were involved in an argument over a basketball game, during which a student pulled a gun. The victim ran inside the athletic center where he was subsequently shot.
Police believe the shooter may be a student at Clark Atlanta University.
Morehouse College released a statement on Friday evening, stating:
A Morehouse Student was injured during a shooting incident at Samuel A. Archer Hall on the Campus of Morehouse College.
Police say an argument started after a pick-up basketball game at the gym. Four shots were fired and a Morehouse student was hit in the forearm. He has been transported to Grady hospital in stable condition.
Police believe there are two suspects and they are believed to be students of the Atlanta University Center, but have not yet been identified.
Morehouse Campus Police are working with Atlanta Police and Clark Atlanta Police on the investigation.
The victim suffered a minor flesh wound to the forearm, and is alert, breathing and conscious.
Longtime rivals, Morehouse and Clark-Atlanta, were set to see each other in a basketball match-up on Saturday evening. That game has been cancelled.
