Fireworks in Centennial Olympic Park, downtown Atlanta
ATLANTA -- The threat of wet weather and technical difficulties bedeviled the fireworks at Lenox Square Mall -- one of a handful of Fourth of July celebrations that was not cancelled because of the rain.
Organizers of the fireworks celebration at Lenox Square pressed on Thursday night, despite the less than favorable weather.

But there was a tiny glitch in the middle of the event attributed to "technical difficulties."
The fireworks began at roughly 9:45 p.m. But after a few minutes, the show stalled, the fireworks stopped while the music continued playing. An announcer eventually informed the crowd the show was experiencing "technical difficulties."
The fireworks show resumed after a roughly ten-minute delay.
Many people who braved the elements to watch the show say it would not have felt like the Fourth without fireworks of some kind.
