Clayton County police said Ayvani Hope Perez was abducted from a home in the Ellenwood neighborhood on Brookgate Drive when two armed men broke in.

Tuesday evening, group of about 50 people gathered in front of Dutchtown High School in Hampton for a prayer vigil. Many of the missing girl's friends were classmates at Dutchtown Middle School before Perez moved to attend Stockbridge High.

"She's so nice," said one friend. "I don't know why people would do this to her. I'm praying just to get her home safely."

Friends burned candles and held signs with pictures of the missing teen.

"I don't get it," said Sydney Chaquir. "It's not clicking in my mind why somebody would do this to her. It's like a dream."

Anyone with any information is asked to call the hotline at (770) 477-3513.

Ayvani was last seen wearing blue and grey Star Wars pajamas and a blue and grey superhero shirt.

She is 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 93 pounds.

Those wanting to spread hope that Ayvani returns home safe held a prayer vigil for the teen Tuesday evening at Dutchtown High School on Mitchell Road in Hampton.

Police say the armed suspects were driving a grey Dodge or Chevrolet sedan and that Ayvani is believed to be in extreme danger.

Clayton County police officer Phong Nguyen said the intruders demanded jewelry and money when they broke in through the back door. There were two kids home at the time - Ayvani and her 15-year-old brother. Police did not release his name.

As their home was being invaded, Ayvani's mother tried to hide both of the kids, but the intruders found the girl.

One of the men shot the family dog, Nguyen said.  The dog was not killed, and taken to a nearby vet for treatment.

A nationwide Amber Alert was issued at around 3:00 a.m. to help find Ayvani.
