The Vad Lee era looks to be coming to an end at Georgia Tech.

ATLANTA -- Sources close to the Georgia Tech football team tell 11Alive News quarterback Vad Lee plans to leave the Yellow Jackets and play his final two seasons of eligibility elsewhere.

When contacted by 11Alive, the football staff at Tech said they were unable to comment, but hoped to release more information Friday.

Sources told 11Alive partners at Rivals.com Lee would most likely transfer down to a FCS program where he can plan immediately since he already burned his redshirt year. Possible destinations include James Madison, Elon, and Rcihmond. All are closer to his hometown of Durham.

Lee finishes his Yellow Jacket career with a 7-6 record. He rushed for 513 yards, averaging 2.8 yards per carry this year.

Tech will look to rising sophmore Justin Thomas, and freshman Ty Griffin and Matthew Jordan.
