ATLANTA -- The moving sidewalk that runs between Concourse C and D at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport caught fire Thursday night.
According to airport officials, the moving sidewalk caught fire around 7:30pm and was extinguished shortly after.
Due to smoke from the fire, passengers were not allowed in the area and planes in Concourses C and D were not allowed to deplane until around 8:30pm.
Officials say the train plane was back in service by 8:30pm and around 1,000 passengers were affected. At this time, only one section of the moving sidewalk between Concourse C and D is not in operation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were not injuries reported.
